Crosby Wood

Crosby Wood has been playing in bicycle tournaments for many years. The teams he’s been a part of, including Unionville Bike Polo and Aikenville, have done well in tournaments both in the United States and Europe. While Crosby Wood thinks almost anyone would enjoy a game of bicycle polo, he knows that the game poses some serious physical challenges.
For example, Crosby Wood points out, people must be able to ride their bikes very comfortably as you cannot focus on riding the bike while trying to hit the ball. Lower body strength isn’t enough to propel you to bicycle polo success, Crosby Wood says. Players must also have upper body strength to steer their bikes and hit the ball. Bicycle polo, Crosby Wood says, provides a great all-around workout and actually distracts a players mind from all the pedaling one does while playing.
