Dr. David Kyle built his career on a solid foundation of education. He graduated, with honors, from the University of Victoria in Victoria, Canada with a bachelor’s degree in science. He then attended the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada and obtained his doctoral degree in biochemistry in 1980. He went on to postdoctoral work at Michigan State University, the Institute for Chemical Research in Tokyo, the Center for Nuclear Studies in Paris and then the University of Essex in the United Kingdom.

He’s been at the helm of successful biotechnology companies, he created two international not-for-profit foundations and he has done extensive consulting work. In his professional career as a scientist, Dr. David Kyle of Maryland helped to discover that certain algae and a fungi could produce important nutritional components that are commonly only found in breast milk. Through this research, Dr. David Kyle of Maryland has helped to improve the nutritional status of millions of babies all around the world. As a result of his success, Dr. David Kyle and his wife Nancy started the Kyle Foundation which had now been transferred to a fund under the management of the Baltimore Community Funds.
The Kyle Foundation fund is dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life for women and children and provides annual donations to charitable causes that fit the funds mission.
