As a student of Mt. Tabor High School, Katherine Winikoff was required to learn the fundamentals of another language, in addition to English. This is a common requirement of high schools in the United States. Most educational professionals believe that learning another language allows a student to become exposed, in-depth, to another culture, and to learn more about their own culture and their own language in the process.
Katherine Winikoff’s Spanish-Speaking Ability
Katherine Winikoff chose to study Spanish. It would prove to be an excellent decision. Katherine Winikoff seemed to have a special affinity for the language, and her grades were always beyond reproach. In fact, her grades were so good, she was awarded membership in the Spanish National Honor Society. Learning Spanish, and excelling at the language, is likely to benefit Katherine Winikoff as she enters adulthood. More and more people in the United States speak Spanish, and Katherine Winikoff plans to work in the health care industry. It’s likely that her employers will find her ability to speak Spanish both valuable and helpful.
